A TRAIN driver was forced to apply the emergency brake after spotting a woman lying on the track at Llantwit Major on Sunday (January 22).
British Transport Police officers attended the line at Llantwit railway station, following a report of a person under a train.
A BTP spokesman said: "Officers from South Wales Police also attended the incident, which was reported to police at 8.03pm by the driver of the 1942hrs Bridgend to Cardiff Central service, who reported seeing a woman lying on the track and subsequently applied the emergency brake.
"The woman was checked over by paramedics from Wales Ambulance Service but she did not sustain any injuries.
"An 18-year-old woman from the Barry area has subsequently been arrested on suspicion of obstructing a train and possession of cannabis."
The woman has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
