AS well as selling and wearing poppies in the weeks leading up to Armistice Day, children and staff at Gladstone Primary made their own poppies and wreaths to place on the Gladstone School war memorial.
This plaque lists the former pupils of Gladstone who died during the Great War and is proudly displayed on the wall of the school building.
At 11am on Wednesday, November 11, representatives from each class gathered around the war memorial to lay the poppies and to hold their two-minute silence to remember those who lost their lives in war.
Throughout the school, all children were silent for two minutes while the Year 3 class paid their respects at Barry Cemetery in a service of remembrance held by the British Legion.
