MP for the Vale of Glamorgan, John Smith, met with Lord Drayson Minister of State for Strategic Defence Acquisition at St Athan last week to discuss the progress of the new Defence Technical College.

Mr Smith was pleased to inform the Minister that the Vale of Glamorgan Borough County Council would be holding a special meeting in September to consider planning applications relating to the Defence Technical College and the associated Aerospace Business Park.

John Smith said: “This project is on schedule to deliver the largest single government investment in the history of Wales. We must continue to work to achieve the enormous economic potential that this opportunity can give to the Vale of Glamorgan and the rest of South Wales."
