Annual Ty Hafan fun day is a big hit!

THE annual Ty Hafan Fun Day, held at the hospice in Sully, is without doubt becoming a very popular date on the summer events’ calendar.

Almost 2,000 people spent an enjoyable Sunday afternoon in the hospice grounds with something there for everyone.

Many also took the opportunity to be shown around the hospice to see the wonderful facilities and speak to the staff who make Ty Hafan such a special place.

Outside, children were having fun on the fairground rides, bouncy castle and slide while Mums and Dads listened to songs from West End and Broadway musicals, watched displays in the arena, wandered around the many stalls or just relaxed and enjoyed a Sunday afternoon tea.

South Wales Police were there to proudly show off two of their magnificent horses together with some of their superbly trained dogs.

Children who had always wanted to sit in a real fire engine had their chance and Dads were able to admire the fantastic array of vintage cars and Gold Wing motorbikes as well as a Formula One racing car.

Visitors were also occasionally surprised to come across Star Wars Storm Troopers who wandered amongst the crowd.

"The event has been building over the last three years," said Craig Ananin, Events Manager at Ty Hafan.

"This year was most definitely the best yet!

"We would like to thank everyone who came along to support us, as well as all the performers, display acts and stall holders who all gave their time for free to help us raise money.

"All proceeds from the day will go towards helping the life limited children, young people and their families from across Wales who use Ty Hafan for comfort, care and support."
