THE following cases have been heard at Cardiff and Vale Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Cardiff.

Louise McClymont, aged 18, of McQuade Place, Barry, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. She was fined £50 and ordered to pay court costs of £85, as well as a victim surcharge of £30.

Paul Pearce, aged 46, of Caernarvon Gardens, Barry, pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage to a vehicle. He was sentenced to six weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months and was ordered to undergo alcohol dependency treatment for six months. He was also ordered to pay compensation of £100, £85 in court costs and a victim surcharge of £115.

Andrew Pearson, aged 48, of Holton Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to harassment for unwanted and abusive text messages and phone calls. He was given a restraining order and ordered to pay £85 in court costs, a victim surcharge of £85 and was fined £120.

Rhys Reynolds, aged 25, of Powis View, Barry, was found guilty of assault by beating. He was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison, extended to 24 weeks due to previous assault convictions. He was also given a restraining order and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115.

Paul Campbell, aged 54, of Goodwick Close, Barry, pleaded guilty to assault by beating and harassment. He was given a restraining order and ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work, as well as being ordered to pay £85 in court costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Joseph Jones, aged 27, of Buttrills Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He was given a restraining order and fined £300, as well as being ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £30.
Shehzad Siddique, aged 42, of Jewel Street, Barry, was found guilty of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment or distress. He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115.

Alexander Peters, aged 23, of Magellan Close, Barry, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly. He was fined £300 and ordered to pay court costs of £85, as well as a victim surcharge of £30. 

Andrew Rumbelow, aged 37, of Holton Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He was ordered to undergo alcohol dependency treatment for nine months and was fined £40. He was also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £85.

Geraint Berry, aged 38, of Holton Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to sending WhatsApp messages as prohibited by a restraining order. He was given an eight week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

David Prince, aged 35, of Jenner Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to multiple thefts of food, wine and electrical clippers. He was sentenced to 10 weeks in prison and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115, as well as £85 in court costs.
