THE following cases were heard at Cardiff and Vale Magistrates' Court sitting at Cardiff:

Barrie Wayne Haggard, aged 39, of Buttrills Walk, Barry, pleaded guilty to one count of making off without paying for intending to avoid payment of fuel and one count of failing to surrender to custody. He was discharged conditionally for 12 months and ordered to pay £70 costs, a £20 surcharge and £15 compensation.

Chad Joseph Clemo, aged 45, of Dobbins Road, Barry, was found guilty of one count of walking within 20 metres of a property which he was prohibiting from doing so by a restraining order and one count of damaging the rear window of a car. He was sent to prison for a total of 26 weeks and a restraining order was made. He was ordered to pay £620 costs, a £115 surcharge and £75 compensation.

Nicola Ann Marie Robson, aged 38, of Narbeth Court, Barry, pleaded guilty to four counts of theft. She was sentenced to eight weeks in prison suspended for 12 months. She was ordered to pay a £115 surcharge.

Ross Mccaddon, aged 25, of Ravenshoe Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to handling stolen jewellery. He was sent to prison for two months and ordered to pay a £115 surcharge.

Asha Turner, aged 49, of Holton Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer. She was discharged conditionally for 12 months. She was ordered to pay £50 compensation, £85 costs and a £20 surcharge.

David George Simmons, aged 41, of Holton Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to two counts of theft. He was sentenced to 10 weeks in prison suspended for 12 months. He was ordered to pay £45 compensation, £85 costs and a £115 surcharge.

Helena Jeanette Edwards, aged 31, of Hywel Crescent, Barry, pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour. She was fined £40 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.

Simon Lee Fisher, aged 29, of Jenner Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to disorderly behaviour while drunk in a public place. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.

Lynette Eileen Timmins, aged 50, of Hwyel Crescent, Barry, pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour. She was fined £40 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.

Natalie Jane Somers, aged 32, of Dale Court, Barry, pleaded guilty to assault. She was fined £120 and was ordered to pay £50 costs and £150 compensation.

Kieron John Hatter, aged 31, of Westbury Close, Barry, pleaded guilty to one count of sending a facebook message to a person he was prohibited from doing so by a restraining order and one count of failing to surrender to custody. He was sentenced to four weeks in prison suspended for 12 months. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £115 surcharge.

Sean Anderson, aged 24, of Holton Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to stealing jewellery. He was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison suspended for 12 months. He was ordered to pay £300 compensation, £85 costs and an £80 surcharge.

Jerry Wall, aged 50, of Trinity Street, Barry, pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour which was racially aggravated. He was discharged conditionally for six months and ordered to pay a £20 surcharge.

Gary Collins, aged 32, of Jewel Street, Barry, was found guilty of assault and using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour

A community order was made requiring 220 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months. A restraining order was also made and he was ordered to pay £200 compensation, £85 costs and an £85 surcharge.

Michael John Brash, aged 43, of Williams Crescent, Barry, pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis. He was fined £50 and ordered to pay a £30 surcharge.

Keith Alexander Simpson, aged 48, of no fixed abode, Barry, pleaded guilty to stealing eight cans of Tenant super beer and another count of stealing alcohol and confectionary. He was discharged conditionally for six months. He was ordered to pay £29.97 compensation and a £20 surcharge.
