A NEW gym is setting out to offer fitness fans a retreat from daily life.

The MT.Fitness gym will be run by partners James Eaton, 25, and Stacey Niblett, 26,who started out as Rhoose-based Pro-Symmetry Fitness.

MT.Fitness will open at newly-established Mount Rooms hotel on Monday, following a launch event.

Rugby Union player Mr Eaton and netball player Miss Niblett both have county level experience in their respective sports.

Mum-of-one Miss Niblett said: “We dreamed about it on our first date at the Captain’s Wife in Sully.”

Mr Eaton is a Certified REPS Level 3 personal trainer and was previously part of the management team at the Village Hotel Health Club.

Miss Niblett has a degree in BSC Sports and Physical Education.

They say they will offer a tailor-made service, focusing on strength and conditioning accessible to all abilities and levels of fitness.

Equipment will include tyres, climbing frames, beams and ropes. There will be a sauna and outdoor classes will also feature.

Miss Niblett said: “We are having a play gym built for us. People who use our plan will focus on strength and conditioning and how to do it properly.

"We are not aimed at bodybuilders and our emphasis is will be on personal coaching.

"We are results driven. A lot of gyms care about the numbers rather than the people they serve.”

Space will also be available for hire, from yoga to pilates.

The couple also want to establish the facility as a South Wales retreat with access to training areas such as Whitmore Bay and Porthkerry Park an obvious draw.

MT. Fitness launch event will take place at the Mount Rooms, on Porthkerry Road, from 6pm to 9pm on Sunday. All are invited to take a look.

The gym has 24/7 access and membership is £30.
