A BARRY Island café is proving a top spot for dogs who want to be cool.

Marco’s Café is attracting pooches, whose owners wish to give them a dog-friendly treat, with frozen yoghurt suitable for them to eat.

HRH Prince George was recently photographed appearing to feed his pet spaniel Lupo with chocolate-covered ice-cream – an image which caused animal welfare groups concern.

Café owner, Marco Zeraschi, said: “The reason we sell this product is that it’s made purposely for dogs.

“We sell it for £1.50 a tub and it comes in several refreshing flavours in a tub.

“We have been selling this product for six months and it has taken off. Dogs need a treat as well as humans and we are supplied by a pet shop in the old village of Dinas Powys.

“Dogs love it and look forward to the end of their walks so mum or dad can have a coffee and the dog can have their treat.

“It doesn't half keep the dog quiet.”

The Frozzys product is rich in vitamins, minerals and fibre and is suitable for dogs and puppies.
