A PETITION is scheduled to be presented to the Vale council this week following concerns raised about bus services to the Rhoose community.

Margaret Everson, of the Bus Users Council, met with Vale AM Jane Hutt AM to issue an update on bus user needs and issues in the Vale of Glamorgan.

The Vale AM invited Rhoose resident Malcolm Mills to the meeting to raise concerns about the buses.

Mr Mills said he was concerned the first bus to leave Rhoose was not until 8.20am which was very late for commuters and people seeking connections for other bus and train services.

Ms Hutt said she had been engaging with New Adventure Travel and the Vale council to find a way of securing a service to the people of the Fonmon Road neighbourhood who lost their bus service several years ago.

She has called for the 303 service to be provided on a regular basis up Fonmon Road to connect with the Blue Anchor at Aberthaw.

She also said that she had a meeting arranged with Cardiff Bus to discuss the X91.

Ms Everson highlighted the Catch a Bus Week in July with Bus Users Cymru holding an event in King Square, Barry on Tuesday, July 5 involving NAT,

Cardiff Bus and Watts Buses urged people to attend.
