A CABINET re-shuffle has followed after Vale children’s services cabinet member, cllr Chris Elmore stepped down after he was elected to serve as Ogmore’s MP.

Vale Council leader, cllr Neil Moore retains his position with cllr Lis Burnett taking on the deputy leader role – succeeding cllr Stuart Egan who has become the Vale mayor.

Cllr Moore said: “I’ve reduced the number of cabinet members to five. It’s a big ask. It’s a big responsibility, but I know they are all up for it.”

Cllr Moore assumes the title of executive leader and cabinet member for resources and inward investment.

Cllr Burnett is the cabinet member for regeneration and education with cllr Bronwen Brooks cabinet member for housing and social care & health.

Cllr Gwyn John is cabinet member for visible, leisure and regulatory services and cllr Peter King responsible for building services, highways and transportation.
