RNLI lifeguards on Whitmore Bay assisted a kayaker who got into difficulty this weekend.
On Sunday, May 8 two kayakers were 150m offshore when one fell out and started drifting further away from his craft.
RNLI Senior Lifeguard Laura Bremner and lifeguard Rhydian Price saw the incident unfold and quickly alerted Mark Griffiths who was patrolling the water’s edge between the red and yellow flags.
Mr Griffiths grabbed the rescue board and paddled out to the man - who by now had started to panic and was calling for help. The kayaker was assisted onto the rescue board and safely taken back to shore.
Working alongside the RNLI lifeguard the volunteers of Cold Knapp Surf Lifesaving Club launched their inshore rescue boat and brought the empty kayak back to shore.
A spokesman for the RNLI said: "Thankfully the man was unharmed and no further assistant was required."
RNLI lifeguards provide a daily safety service on Whitmore Bay between 10am and 6pm throughout the summer season.
