A COFFEE morning raising funds and awareness for the Brain Tumour Charity has raised £148 from the Barry fundraisers’ first event.
The event at Golau Caredig, on Broad Street, Barry, raised the funds via gift stalls and a raffle and by selling coffee and homemade cake.
Vale MP, Alun Cairns attended and asked patients about what symptoms led to their medical conditions being diagnosed and the treatment that was then administered.
Mr Cairns also spoke to residents from the extra-care home.
The Brain Tumour Charity aims to defeat brain tumours and make a difference every day to the lives of people with a brain tumour and their families.
It also funds pioneering research and creates awareness and support to save lives and improve quality of life.
The next event, at which the Brain Tumour Charity fundraisers, will be present will be the Knap Gardens open day, in Barry, on Sunday, June 26 which will also see Barry Brass Band perform.
