FIFTEEN bags of rubbish were collected in a few hours from an anti-social behaviour hotspot in St Athan last week.

Tyres, gas canisters, empty cans, and bottles were collected from the Old Boys Village by local PCSOs Rhiannon Cummings and Adam Like, and Geoff Horton from the RAF Association.

The rubbish - which is believed to have been left by youths and fly tippers - was collected before the start of the summer when complaints about anti-social behaviour at the location increase. The plan now is to monitor the area to ensure it is kept tidy.

PCSO Rhiannon Cummins said: “During the summer we receive regular complaints about loud, rowdy, and general anti-social behaviour in the area so we decided to tidy it up.

"We’ll be patrolling the spot at key times now as a deterrent to anyone who thinks it is acceptable to act in ways which are totally inconsiderate to people living near the area.”
