A CONSULTATION on proposed improvements to the High Street and Broad Street area of Barry is being run by the Vale of Glamorgan Council.

The proposals are for improved car parking facilities including additional space for over 40 parking bays, new and improved pedestrian crossing facilities, and improved facilities for cyclists.

Other proposed improvements include gateway spaces marking the entrance to the shopping centre, and improvements to bus stops.

The consultation will run from Wednesday July, 22 to Friday, August 28 with the feasibility plans available to view online throughout that period.

Plans will also be available at a series of drop-in sessions held at 35 High Street, where residents will also be able to discuss details of the proposals with Council officers.

Sessions will run on Saturday, July 25 from 9am to 12pm, on Wednesday, July 29 from 8am to 9pm and 5pm to 6pm, on Thursday, July 30 from 8am to 9pm and 5pm to 6pm, and on Saturday, August 1 from 9am to 12pm.

Following the drop-in-sessions the plans will also be available to view at the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Dock Office, from Monday, August 3 to Friday, August 28.
