BARRY Island’s latest big fairground attraction has rocked up in town.

In a five-truck entourage, the Wild Mouse rollercoaster arrived, from Kirkcaldy, in Scotland, to set up home on the Barry Island Pleasure Park site.

The 120ft long x 60ft wide family attraction journeyed along Ffordd Millennium, along Broad Street, and via the Harbour Road causeway before entering the 4.5 acre site

The Danter family and their assembly team hope the ride will be completely constructed and put into use until its temporary departure, to Newcastle, following the holidays in May.

Clearance work is still continuing on site with members of the public expressing interest in memorabilia from iconic rides such as the Log Flume and Jungle Boat.

The Danter family has declined offers to buy the Jungle Boat elephant, planning to restore the artificial mammal and make it part of Barry Island’s tourism history.
