THE Vale of Glamorgan Council’s public consultation on the future of the library service closes on Wednesday, December 31.

Residents across the Vale are being encouraged to put forward their views before the consultation closes.

A review undertaken last year identified a number of steps required to make the Vale’s libraries financially viable. The three most significant proposed changes were then put to library users and Vale residents for consultation.

The Vale of Glamorgan Council is facing significant financial pressure due to cuts in public sector funding and around £32 million needs to be saved over the next three years.

You can have your say on the proposals for community libraries, changes to opening hours, and the relocation of St Athan library online at www.valeofglamorgan.gov.uk/librarystrategy or by calling 01446 700111 before the end of December.
