BUS passengers in the Vale are set to enjoy new facilities when a new bus appears at their stop.

Cardiff Bus has invested in 10 new single-decker buses, as part of its commitment to improve its fleet, and the vehicles which will operate across its network should feature on it services operating within the Vale.

The 64-plate Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 models come complete with CCTV, contemporary fresh interiors, comfortable seating and are fully accessible for all.

The 10 new buses, follows a £3.5 million investment into 30 new vehicles last year.

Cardiff Bus’ managing director, Cynthia Ogbonna said: “We continuously look for ways to improve the service we provide our customers and this latest investment into 10 new vehicles underlines that.

“The new buses also include audio and visual next stop announcements in both English and Welsh, an important feature for Cardiff Bus’ blind and partially sighted customers.

“We strive to provide a level of service that is equal for all, whilst meeting the needs of those who may find it more difficult to use the buses. We know that buses play a vital role in enabling disabled people, including those with sight loss, to live more independent lives. We hope the use of next stop audio and visual announcements will enable these customers to travel more confidently.”
