THE VALE of Glamorgan and Steve James of SJ Builders took home the Best Craftsmanship award at the recent Regional All Wales Building Excellence Awards, held at the Millennium Centre, Cardiff.

Builders from across the country were competing for a chance to win at the National Building Excellence Awards, being held in London next month, in which SJ Builders will be involved.

“It is testament to the quality of the project, agents, builders and the council’s building control team that the Vale of Glamorgan and S J Builders have won such a prestigious award.”

Councillor Lis Burnett, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Innovation, Planning and Transportation said: “It is wonderful to see a small business and in particular the Vale of Glamorgan competing with schemes nationally.

“I am extremely pleased for all those involved and I think it shows that the Vale of Glamorgan is a place where you can really do business.”

Councillor Fred Johnson, Chairman of the Vale of Glamorgan Council Planning Committee, said: “I'm extremely pleased that projects from the Vale of Glamorgan have won this regional all Wales award and I think it shows the high level of teamwork involved in delivering a quality service to the public of the Vale of Glamorgan.
