PEOPLE in Gibbonsdown are being given the chance to decide on the future of the old Housing Office on Aberaeron Close, which is being turned into a Community Hub.

The Vale of Glamorgan Council’s housing team are hosting a Halloween themed gathering to give residents the opportunity to tell members of the housing team what they would like to see the building used for, and what services they would like to see provided there.

The event takes place on Thursday, October 30 from 1pm to 5pm, and is free to everyone. There will be children’s games and entertainment for all, as well as music from the Vale Youth Service and a visit from the V-Pod Bus.

Housing Assistant, Stephen Crockford, said: “This will be a fantastic opportunity to listen to exactly what Gibbonsdown residents feel their community needs.

"We want to know in what areas they feel they are lacking in support and what they feel would benefit them so that we can turn this building into a first-class service point for everyone in the area.”

The new Community Hub could potentially be used by residents for easy access to the web, meetings with money advisors, workshops, training, or youth activities.
