ANDREW RT Davies, South Wales Central AM and Vale resident, has expressed his concern after Cityjet announced plans to reduce flights on the Cardiff to Glasgow Airport route.

This comes just nine months after its reinstatement and has occurred due to lack of passengers using the service.

Daily flights will now be cut from three to two a day.

Mr Davies said:

“This news is particularly concerning given the fact that the route was only reinstated nine months ago.

“The fact that key airlines are reducing flights on their flagship routes is extremely worrying and does not give the impression of a confident and vibrant airport.

“This latest route withdrawal begs questions about whether the strategy for growth at Wales’ state-owned airport is right and whether opportunities for growth, route development and marketing are being properly explored”.
