SINCE July, 27 organisations in the Vale have received a share of £32,259 through the Community Chest funding stream.
Organisations offering a range of sports, such as squash, sea rowing, or netball, can apply for a grant of up to £1,500 to help develop more sporting opportunities in the Vale.
The majority of the successful organisations applied for funding to increase the number of qualified coaches at the club, a priority area within the Vale Sport plan, and a number also received funding to purchase new equipment.
The next Community Chest panel meeting will take place in October, with a deadline date of Thursday, October 9, for applications.
If you are an organisation that is seeking to create new sports opportunities or further develop existing activities, contact the Sports Development Team on 01446 704793.
Community Chest is a Sport Wales funded scheme managed locally by the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Sports Development Team. It aims to encourage more people to become more active, more often and to raise the standard of existing activities.
