A CARE home resident recalled her former tap dancing days when she visited a Barry-based dance school recently.

82-year-old Delphine Jenkins, of Island View Care Home, on Barry Island, took her trip down memory lane when she visited Anthea King's School of Dance and watched thirty of the youngest dance pupils perform at Victoria Park Community Hall in Barry.

Delphine, a former pupil of the Guppe School of Dance, performed tap dancing on stage in her younger years and still enjoys practising her dance steps at the care home today.

Delphine travelled with a group of other residents to the community centre, in a hired minibus provided by Anthea King.

Island View Care Home co-ordinator, Carolyn Mead said: “All enjoyed tea and cakes afterwards. Residents thought the children were absolutely charming and their performances excellent!”
