AHEAD of receiving their MBEs later in the year, foster carers Sandra and Stuart Peacock were treated to afternoon tea with the mayor.
Mayor Howard Hamilton, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services Chris Elmore and Head of Children’s Services Rachel Evans joined Sandra and Stuart at the event was organised to thank the couple for the amazing commitment they have given to looking after children in the Vale.
For over 45 years the couple have provided short and long term care for more than 150 children and young people of all ages and from different family backgrounds and situations.
A Vale Council spokesman said: "Not only have they provided a loving, caring and nurturing environment for the children that have been placed with them over the years, they have also used their skills and expertise to support other foster carers who have needed support and advice.
"The Vale of Glamorgan Council is incredibly proud of Sandra and Stuart and all that they have achieved in working with vulnerable and sometimes challenging children over the years."
