THE Mayor of the Vale recently organised a charity 'night at the races' with all proceeds going to the National Coastwatch Institution at Nell's Point, Barry Island. The evening was a great success and raised £955 for the charity.
Terry Ewington the manager of the National Coastwatch Station, Nells Point, said: "We are so very grateful to the Mayor for her continued support of our charity. She has worked tirelessly throughout the year representing her three nominated charities and the success of the Race Night is an example of her determination to raise as much money as possible for us and the other two charities. A big thank you from all the crew at NCI Nells Point".
The Mayor would like to thank the following companies for their support - Cardiff & Vale Natural Burial Ground, Topstak Chimney Specialist Limited, Marco's Café, Barry Island. Thanks also to the councillors and individuals who supported and attended the event.
