ON January 7, Brynhill Ladies celebrated Shirley O'Donovan's 80th birthday, arranged by her daughter Helen and aided by Gemma.
She has been a member of the club for 55 years, played for the 1st team for 40 years, been club champion 12 times, and held every office. More than this,'Our Shirl' has been so supportive in all club activities and helpful to all lady golfers.
Tributes were made by Jan and Carol and poems read by Joy and Pam. Sing songs organised by Helena, accompanied by Liz on the piano were enjoyed by all. Old videos were found of the Bryntiller girls of the 90's and Shirley singing and dancing 'The Good Ship Lollipop' which she repeated - and not a step out of place.
A wonderful night was enjoyed by 53 ladies who are all looking forward to her 90th.
