DURING March a series of lent lunches were held at All Saints Church, Barry.
The first four weeks raised £1,020 for church funds.
It was decided that an extra week would be arranged and any monies raised would be sent to the East Africa famine appeal.
The extra week raised £550 which included donations from those who could not attend as well as the special raffle.
This money is to be sent via Christian aid to the DEC appeal for the drought/famine areas in East Africa.
Many thanks to all those who supported the lunches. They hope to be back in November.
