LAST week Colcot Primary School’s Eco Committee carried out a successful litter pick in the local area.
The children of the committee decided that they would like to help make their local area tidier and raise awareness of how to keep their area cleaner.
A parent and local council worker also helped with the task.
Between them all, they collected a large bin bag full of people’s rubbish.
They would like to pass on the message of “Keep Colcot Clean!!”
The Year 5 children were also busy visiting a local allotment to consolidate their topic this half term.
As well as planting produce in the school grounds with their parents during their family session, they also used their green fingers at the allotment.
Whilst there, they helped to plant runner beans, courgettes, carrots and parsnips.
They also compared veg grown at the allotment to veg they buy in the shops.
Green fingers and green Eco pupils had a fantastic time.
