ON Monday, May 18 Cadoxton (Barry) WI was the host meeting for the Link.

The hall had been decorated with Welsh bunting and Union Jacks as the WI celebrates its centenary this year which was founded in Llanfairpg in 1915.

Besides the three members of the Link, several other WI`s attended with guests. The entertainment was provided by the Vale Of Glamorgan Brass Band. The band always proves popular with the members and Monday was no exception.

The concert was in three parts, which included a Welsh medley, a sing-a-long and a swing section. It was a joy to see the members standing for Jerusalem, flag waving to Rule Britannia and foot tapping to the tribute to Glen Miller.

Audrey, Diane and Margaret did them proud serving teas and coffees to over 67 people, well done. There were many raffles including a set of lamps donated by the family of the late Kathleen Cocks.

Wednesday was an invite from Sully WI to a Bon Marche fashion show and Thursday was an invite to Dinas Powis Link meeting where the children from Dinas Powis Primary School entertained with a selection of songs from Joseph and his Technicolour Dream Coat. Really amazing, well done children.

Meetings are held third Monday of the month at Victoria Park Community Centre at 7pm. For further information contact 01446 404891
