TEENAGERS from Barry Comprehensive have organised a fundraising show at the school this week - from the performance itself to stage management, marketing and front-of-house.

'CountryBoy's Struggle', a one-man show which featured at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival earlier this year, will be performed by Maxwell Golden on Wednesday (October 24) at 5pm.

As part of their Welsh Baccalaureate, students from form group 12AJ have been responsible for the entire production, led by class teacher Anwen Jones.

The project has been funded by the Arts Council of Wales as part of the 'Night Out' scheme, which aims to help volunteers put on professional shows.

A proportion of the money raised from the show, with tickets priced £3, will go towards local charity the Jamie Adamson Memorial Fund (JAM Fund).

Year 12 pupil Joe Green said: "We aren't just doing it for the Welsh Baccalaureate - we are doing it because we enjoy it!"

Tickets are available from the school.
