A CROWD flocked to Barry's Porthkerry beach on Tuesday evening to see a rather unusual new arrival to the town - a newborn seal pup!

The young pup was found washed up on the beach by passers-by, but has now been taken by the RSPCA to West Hatch wildlife centre at Taunton in Somerset.

The unusual discovery was made at around 6pm on October 16, and RSPCA officers believe the creature had spent the day on the beach, venturing into the water to avoid human attention!
