ENERGETIC fundraisers enjoyed a four-hour sponsored stroll, in memory of a much-loved Barry woman who died after a battle with cancer.

Family, friends and colleagues of Wendy Jordan, of Palmerston, set out from Llantwit Major beach and took the coastal path to Barry train station, in their efforts to raise money for Macmillan, on September 30.

The sustenance-needing crew then took sanctuary in the Glenbrook Inn, where they met up with Wendy's husband Mike following their exertions.

Wendy's Scafftag colleague, Karl Webb said: "Mike thanked us for the help and support that he and all of the family have received.

"It's been overwhelming."

Wendy's family thanked friends, Wendys Walk organiser Clive Cureton together with Scafftag/Brady, Knights Plastics, Edson Set Office Supplies, Fire & Safety, Marco`s Cafe, Argos, Finnegans Inn, Hyper Value, Park Funerals, Nina Estate Agents, Glamorgan Plumbing, AG Adams & Son, LDS, Jackies fruit & veg, Vale Funeral Home, Jewson, Masons Moving Group,1st Appliance Centre, College Fields nursing home, TL Systems, ABP, Smiths Travel, Fontagary Holiday Park, and Briscombe Dry Cleaners.

* A raffle is also being run to raise money for Wendy’s Walk and Macmillan.

Tickets for the raffle, costing £1 each, are available from Claire or Clive at Scafftag, at Barry Docks, and the draw takes place on October 19.
