TEAM: (L-R) Marlene Raybould, Gary Wharton, Chris May and Carl Dale (front).
FOOTBALL fans had their first opportunity to snap up the story of a legendary manager and Barry resident, at a book launch in Cardiff.
Former Cardiff City players Nathan Blake, Carl Dale, and Damon Searle – the last of whom is assistant coach at Barry Town FC – were all at the Cardiff City superstore on October 2, to sign copies of Eddie May, My Story.
Eddie died in April, aged 68, just two weeks after the book was completed with the help of ghostwriter Gary Wharton.
Eddie's partner, Marlene Raybould said: "It was fantastic meeting Eddie's old friends and passionate City fans. "The atmosphere was fantastic, and it was a real plus that City beat Birmingham that night."
She thanked Julian Jenkins from Cardiff City and Jeff White for helping make the book possible, Eddie's players, book designer Emma Lamport, printer Norman Harris and co-writer Gary Wharton.
A second book launch is scheduled for Barry library in the near future.
The book costs £8.99 and is available from Marco's Café, Barry Island and the Cardiff City FC superstore.
