FOOTBALL LEGEND: The story of Eddie May.
BARRY Town and Cardiff City football fans can now read the story of one of their most loved managers.
Barry resident Eddie May - who became a regular fixture at Marco's Café, Barry Island - following his retirement from the game - wrote his book Eddie May: My Story before his death, aged 68, in April this year.
Ghostwriter Gary Wharton and Eddie completed the tale two weeks before Eddie died - and this week Eddie's partner Marlene Raybould launched the book.
Marlene said: "Eddie May My Story is a comprehensive collection of his memories, his last recorded memories, of the game he loved.
"For Eddie, football was always about the fans. He loved them and they loved him.
"He understood them, respected them and wanted nothing more than to share his life with them.
"His wish was always that his life be published, and here is his wish."
Eddie May: My Story costs £8.99, and is available to buy from Marco's Café, Barry Island, the Cardiff City club shop, and Whitchurch Bookshop.
