Police appeal after suspicious car fire in Barry

POLICE are investigating after a car was badly damaged in a blaze on a Barry street, before sliding into another vehicle.

Officers want to speak to anyone with information on the Peugeot 206, which was on fire on Bridge Street at around 8pm on Monday (October 1).

Firefighters dealt with the blaze and no-one was injured, but at one point the handbrake gave way and the burning car rolled down the hill, colliding with a van before stopping in the middle of the road.

The van had minor damage.

The incident is being treated as suspicious. Contact Barry police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
