Free safety open day at Barry Fire Station

THE Vale Council, Police and Fire Service are together hosting an open day on Sunday, October 7 (11am to 4pm), at Barry Fire Station, Port Road West. The event aims to show how local services who work in partnership as Safer Vale help make the area a safer place.

There will be a road traffic collision demonstration, a public support unit (riot police), and a demonstration from the police dog. The South Wales Police helicopter will also be doing a flyover.

Fun for children will include face painting, a bouncy castle, a mock cell, mask making, jewellery making and bat-a-rat.

Free parking will be available at Barry Comprehensive School.
