Search for driver after Barry collision leaves young girl in intensive care

POLICE in Barry are searching for a driver who failed to stop following a collision which left a young girl in intensive care. The incident happened at 4.55pm Thursday (September 27) at Winston Road.

Officers say a grey or silver coloured estate type vehicle was travelling along the road at a relatively slow speed when it came into contact with a young child. Following the collision, the vehicle failed to stop and left the scene.

The child was taken by Air Ambulance to UHW where she remains in the Intensive Care Unit.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the vicinity of Winston Road, Barry at or around 4.55pm. Police would also like to speak to the drivers of any grey or silver coloured estate vehicles which may have been in the area at the time.

The Police would also like the assistance of the public in tracing any similar vehicles which may have sustained recent damage.
