Vale AM praises volunteers after opening of Belvedere Park Gardens in Barry's Castleland

VALE AM Jane Hutt, attended the opening of the Belvedere Park Gardens in Castleland, Barry last week.
With Big Lottery funding and a great deal of hard work by local residents and volunteers, this new development was warmly welcomed.
Joining Jane at the opening ceremony were, Town Mayor, Cllr Les Sword, Cllr Chris Elmore, local residents and children, Castleland Community Centre and the Drop in Centre team including Jean Jones, the garden co-ordinator.
Jane Hutt said: "It was wonderful to see the Belvedere Park open and blooming as a result of hard work by local people. Local schools and businesses have all played their part to help establish the garden with the co-ordinator, Jean Jones, supporting volunteers.
"With planting for every season, the park will always have a display of colour and foliage. I urge all to go and visit the gardens and the Castleland Community Centre to find out how they can get involved."
