AFTER the PTA's fundraising work during the last school year, Ysgol Gymraeg Sant Curig has been able to buy new reading books for the whole school.

More than £10,000 was spent on both Welsh and English books and the PTA contributed greatly towards the cost by holding Christmas and summer fayres, raffles and other one-off events.

PTA members Jo Parry, Christine Thompson, Juliet Evans and Tracy Lewis were invited to the school by headteacher Sian Owen and deputy head Rhodri Jones to see the vast array of books on display, ready for pupils to enjoy.

Chair of the PTA Jo Parry said: "I can't believe how many books the school managed to buy with the money. The variety of books on display, both in Welsh and English, is quite a sight!

"I'm sure my own children will thoroughly enjoy reading the books."

The school and the PTA would like to thank all the parents for their support and generosity during last year.
