Man, 31, and woman, 20, charged over Barry town centre robberies

POLICE have charged a man and a woman in connection with two robberies in Barry town centre.

The alleged incidents took place at the Cash Solutions store on Holton Road between 2.45pm and 3.10pm on Friday (September 7); and at the Post Office on Holton Road at 11.50am on Saturday (September 8).

A 31-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman have both been charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in connection with the robberies and appeared at Cardiff and Vale Magistrates on Tuesday (September 11).

Both have been remanded in custody to appear at Cardiff Crown next week.

During both incidents staff were allegedly threatened with a knife, and cash and other items were tlken.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed either incident, as part of their ongoing investigation.
