MORE than £1,500 has been raised for Breast Cancer Care following a strawberry tea hosted by Barry woman Carolyn Collard.

Carolyn, with the support of family and friends, raised £767.44 from the event and this was matched by Barclays Bank to bring the final total to £1,534.88.

The event included a raffle, auction, bingo, quiz, guess the weight of a cake and the sale of home-made cakes and jams.

Carolyn said: "I would like to thank the very kind people who sponsored us - the Seashore Grill, Asda, Tesco, Waitrose, Co-op (Weycock Cross), McDonalds, Secret Garden of Beauty, Morrisons, Mount Sorrel, Hair by Jenny, Tracey Sullivan, R and M Valeting, and passers-by who knocked and donated.

"Many thanks to all involved. I couldn't have done it without them."
