FRIENDS are invited to join family and attend the funeral and celebration in honour of Barry charity worker Lucy Dickenson, who died in Zambia last month.

The funeral of musician Lucy, founder and director of the Safe Foundation, takes place at the Cardiff and Vale natural burial ground in St Georges at 2.30pm on Thursday (September 6).

The service will be followed by a public gathering at Porthkerry Park, Barry, until 5.30pm - where all who knew Lucy are invited to share music, memories and a picnic.

Twin sister Hannah, 32, said: "If you knew Lucy even a tiny bit, you will know that suits and black clothes are not necessary.

"If you were touched by Lucy in any way and want to come and say goodbye, then come and share in the love that she has created and take a little bit of it home with you."

Donations, in Lucy's memory, can be made to The Safe Foundation via www.justgiving.com/emma-gwynnett-davies
