THOUSANDS of visitors flocked to the 2012 Vale of Glamorgan Show in the grounds of Fonmon Castle last week.
After early showers the sun came out, and as well as the many competition classes - most with entries up on last year - there were trade stands galore.
Nicola Gibson, general secretary of the Vale of Glamorgan Agricultural Society, said: "We are delighted with the attendance and the weather was good.
"The show attracts a wide audience, more than just from the local farming and equestrian communities, to make it an all-round, one-day show."
This year's event was held two weeks later then normal, to avoid a clash with the National Eisteddfod in Llandow.
Vale AM, Jane Hutt congratulated the organisers and volunteers.
"With the sun shining on Fonmon, we knew the show would be a great success," she said.
"But it was the preparation and organisation of all the events, displays, exhibitions and stalls that made it such a tremendous day which was enjoyed by all those who attended.
"The Vale Show is an important event in the calendar and it gets better every year. Congratulations to all those who played their part in 2012!"
