Hear to Meet: New social get-together in Barry for people with hearing loss
9:00am Sunday 19th August 2012 in News
ACTION on Hearing Loss Cymru (formerly RNID Cymru) is launching a new social get-together in Barry called Hear to Meet - a free, monthly opportunity for people (50+) who are experiencing hearing loss.
Hearing loss is very common, affecting four out of 10 people over 50 and seven out of 10 over 70. It can make simply chatting with friends and family more difficult.
Sometimes meeting people in a similar situation can help. Hear to Meet is a regular chance to meet new people, enjoy activities and share interests. It is sponsored by the Big Lottery and aims to reach adults across Wales.
Action on Hearing Loss Cymru is looking for volunteers for Hear to Meet. If you enjoy chatting, organising games, or you're a champion tea maker - you could make a real difference.
They value applications from people with a range of hearing and encourage applications from all ages. If you're a confident hearing aid user Action on Hearing Loss Cymru would love to have you on board.
Full training and support will be provided and expenses reimbursed. Contact Becky Oatley on 02920 333 378 or becky.oatley@hearingloss.org.uk for more information.
