I HAVE read with interest recent letters in your paper plus others concerning the future of Cemetery Approach.
Being an allotment holder on the site just below the approach for about 25 years, I have witnessed the growth of the wooded area to one side of the approach and have come to enjoy its beauty. I hope that this wooded area is not destroyed without consultations with recognised authorities such as the Woodland Trust.
As far as I am aware this area is not frequented by people and this has allowed nature to develop a habitat for the wildlife that may or may not be there.
It could be that with minimal management, this wooded area could be enhanced and dare I say it, not for use of the public. Personally I feel it would be a shame to destroy this part of the approach.
Whatever happens I hope the council give due consideration not only to what people want, but what the wildlife need.
