SOME taxi drivers at Cardiff Airport are set to strike on Sunday (January 9) in protest over rising fares.
32 drivers from Checker Cars, who provide services to and from Cardiff Airport, will be on strike for 24 hours.
Peter Coombs, one of the drivers for the firm, said: "We feel we have been backed into a corner, and have been left with no choice.
"They are increasing the fares, which we think is inappropriate in regards to the economy.
"We are concerned about the public more than anything else."
