A BARRY College staff member who took an introductory photography course at the college is about to have her work exhibited for the first time in one of the premier arts venues in South Wales.
College payroll and personnel officer Nadia Barnsley's photographs will feature in an exhibition of work by the 09 Group in the Wales Millennium Centre.
The 09 Group consists of people who completed photography courses at Cardiff's Ffotogallery last year and features a wide range of contributors from teachers, a poet, a marine, a graphic designer and a Barry College payroll and personnel officer.
Nadia first became in interested in photography after buying a compact digital camera a few years ago.
"I enrolled myself on the Barry College Introduction to Digital Photography course in an attempt to demystify my new camera," Nadia explained.
"I thoroughly enjoyed that ten week course and, inspired by the tutor's enthusiasm and encouragement, decided to continue my development by enrolling on some Ffotogallery courses at Chapter Arts Centre.
"Since then I've achieved my Foundation Certificate in Photography and am about to have some of my photographs exhibited for the first time at the Wales Millennium Centre as part of the Group 09 Exhibition which will be running until May 26.
"It's very exciting and a fabulous opportunity to be part of an exhibition in one of South Wales' landmark art centres!"
