POLICE are searching for a 22-year-old who has absconded from prison and who they believe may be in the Barry area.

Christopher John Akers absconded from Prescoed Prison some time between 7.30pm-10pm on Thursday, July 2.

He was convicted of robbery at Cardiff Crown Court in September 2005.
