POLICE in the Barry are warning motorists about the importance of not leaving valuables in their cars when leaving them unattended.
The warning follows a recent spate of thefts from parked cars, where personal possessions have been left on display.
Inspector Jim Hall, Sector Inspector for Barry said: "There have been a number of thefts from motor cars recently where belongings have been left on display.
"All too often, motorists leave their personal belongings visible in their cars when they have left them unattended.
"I urge motorists not to leave anything of value in their cars when they are parked and unattended.
"You should always take any valuables with you and make sure all doors and windows are made secure before leaving your vehicle."
Inspector Hall added: "If you see anything that strikes you as at all unusual, please do not hesitate to report it.
"By working together we can continue to ensure everyone can enjoy themselves while visiting Barry."
