A SUSPENSE author from Barry is celebrating the release of her latest paperback next month and will be attending the Penarth Literature Festival.

Evonne Wareham will be releasing Summer in San Remo on July 3 and is travelling to Penarth to take part in the festival organised by Griffin Books.

The Vale of Glamorgan author says she has not left suspense out of this latest book and it has a balance of romantic comedy, suspense and adventure.

Speaking about the novel, Ms Wareham said: "It was great fun to write. Romantic comedy isn't something I've focused on before but it's good to have a new challenge. I refer to it as writing in the sunshine, whereas with my suspense novels, it's much more writing in the shadows."

Lyn Vernham, managing director of publisher, Choc Lit, said, 'This is what can be produced when a multi-award winning suspense author decides to have a bit of fun. Summer in San Remo is a brilliant book and highly enjoyable - and with just enough suspense in there to keep readers intrigued. The balance Evonne has achieved is wonderful. It's safe to say that with this Rom Com, Evonne Wareham has cracked another genre.'

As well as writing fiction, Ms Wareham is also studying for a PhD in history at Cardiff University.

Evonne’s debut novel, Never Coming Home won the 2012 Joan Hessayon New Writers’ Award, the 2013 Colorado Romance Writers’ Award for Romantic Suspense, the Oklahoma National Readers’ Choice Award for Romantic Suspense plus was a nominee for a Reviewers’ Choice Award from RT Book Reviews.

Readers can meet Ms Wareham at the Penarth Literature Festival. She will be at the local independent bookshop, Griffin Books on the morning of July 7 as part of a meet the author event.
