THE Barry Male Voice Choir recently helped to bring joy to residents from a Cardiff care home.

Tŷ Llandaff, a private nursing, residential and respite care home in Conway Road, Pontcanna, joined thousands of other care homes around the UK by opening their doors to the public for Care Home Open Day.

Along with Barry Male Voice Choir were champion Irish dancers and music from pianist Jeff Holder.

The suggested theme in 2018 for Care Home Open Day was linking communities so Tŷ Llandaff invited the public to enjoy the open day and help celebrate HRH Queen’s 92nd birthday which took place on the same day.

Tŷ Llandaff care home manager Janice Evans said: “We are always looking at new ways of building relationships with the local community and Care Home Open Day was a fantastic way of bringing generations together.

“We were delighted to welcome all our guests, including the Barry Male Voice Choir, who have become very close friends of the home and our fabulous Irish dancers. There was a real buzz around the home about the event and the residents had a great day.”
